Unthinkable
Moment of honesty.
I need to sit down and tell you everything that comes to me.
The courage to do it is hard to come by…

But if you ask me I’m ready.

This is what I believe, Lydia: the paper doesn’t matter, but the words you write on that paper could matter more than you could possibly imagine. If a lot of things break the right way, and if your words are good enough, are meaningful enough, and you want this badly enough… Well, what could they do? They could save a child’s life. They could topple a government. They could move a stranger to tears. They could make us laugh, or swoon, or wonder.
Writing has never been a will business. It’s a could business. It’s a business built on what’s possible, not on what’s certain. It’s not physics. It’s astronomy.
And your words, Lydia?
They could.
They could, they could, they could.
